Head Pastor/Head of Staff Position Outline
Our head pastor will exercise pastoral, administrative, and representative leadership within the church. The candidate will guide the spiritual development of staff and lay leadership, modeling a culture that embodies Christ’s example of servant leadership to all.
Working alongside our Outreach & Membership Council, they will work to attract and engage visitors, helping them to build connections within the church. They will help encourage our congregation and help foster an environment that is welcoming and supportive of a faith lived together. Working outside the church, they will help foster collaborative relationships in our community at large.
Our head pastor will oversee a staff of 20 and manage six direct reports (Associate Pastor; Directors of Worship, Music, and Arts; Children & Family Ministries; Youth & Young Adult Ministries; Children’s Day Out; and Office Director). They will meet regularly with Personnel, Stewardship & Cash Management, Adult Education councils, and moderate Session meetings. The successful candidate will develop the preaching calendar in advance and participate in short and long-range planning of worship. Additional responsibilities include taking part in the selection and execution of church-wide studies, participating in interfaith leadership activities, and a willingness to support other Knox missions and programs.

Director of Operations & Administration
The Director of Operations and Administration will be responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the church facility and administration teams leading all areas to accomplish the mission of Knox Presbyterian Church. This includes strategic planning, finance planning, development, administration, communications, human resources, and facility operations. As a member of church staff, the Director of Operations & Administration will work alongside the Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, fellow staff members and councils to pursue the church’s vision, in keeping with our mission, discipleship process, culture and values.
