Bikes For Mission

“Bikes for Mission” is a donation drive for used (or new) bicycles to support two Knox missions, YMEN and Hesed House. Donations will be accepted in the Gartner lot as a ‘drive thru, drop off” on Sunday June 18th, from 9-11 am, before, during, and after the single 9:30 am worship service. We can use both kids and adult two wheeled bikes. Please use this opportunity to check your garage and attic for bikes you no longer need and then plan to donate them to these worthy causes. As background, YMEN is a community organization in North Lawndale, Chicago, where Knox supports their youth activities on many Saturdays during the year. They have a “bike locker” and bike maintenance facility to supply bikes to kids and others in their local community. At the Hesed House homeless shelter, where Knox provides three meals every month on the 4th Saturday, the bicycles provide critical, low-cost transportation for their guests. Both organizations are greatly in need of additional bicycles.
