Knox Serves 2025 offers three days of service opportunities for existing (and new) mission partners providing the opportunity to help with multiple events.

Friday, October 17

Feed My Starving Children - Aurora , 7:00 pm– 8:45 pm
Please arrive by 7:00 pm. Hand-pack bags of life-saving meals which are shipped to people who need them most. Sign up before October 8th.

Adults, children age 6 and over with parent/guardian
Habitat for Humanity -Off site, Time TBD
We will be helping with an existing project for Habitat for Humanity.  We are waiting for the details from the site coordinator and will share the information as soon as we receive it.

Saturday, October 18

Little Friends-Naperville, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Light landscaping: bush trimming, shrub removal, light weeding, etc. and one deck power washing, at a nearby Little Friends home. Meet in Knox Commons at 8:30am. Bring work gloves and tools per signup.
Adults & Youth age 14-17 with parent/guardian

Hesed House-Aurora, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Landscaping bed cleanup and mulching front of new shelter building. Volunteers will need gardening gloves and recommend long sleeve shirt.
Adults, middle/high school age with parent/guardian

YMEN/DELTA-Chicago, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
The project will be at former Lutheran church adjacent YMEN Center property that they are acquiring. Focus is moderate clean up of main floor sanctuary area and heavy clean up of the basement area. Please meet at Knox if you would like to carpool at 9:00 am.

CareLink -Young Children & Family Project- Knox, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Assemble “Hygiene Goodie Bags” for distribution to the children we encounter at churches in Honduras during our October trip and add a little note to each bag.
Open house hours - come as you can!
Children age 2+ to 7th grade with parent/guardian

Loaves & Fishes Packaging-Knox, 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Assemble taco kits (separately packaged ingredients to be packed into 1 bag or box).
Adults, children 10 & over with parent/guardian

Operation Support Our Troops: Letter Writing-Knox, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Seated activity.  Write thank you letters/cards; children can color pages, for "comfort and care packages" for soldiers stationed overseas.

Sunday, October 19

Naperville Half Marathon-Naperville, 6:00 am - 9:15 am
Direct runners in assigned areas & monitor safety.
Ages 16 & up


Fire Station Goodie Bags -Knox, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Seated activity. Write thank you cards and assemble goodie bags for our local fireman. We will provide gift cards for each station to receive a meal from Knox.

Crop Walk-Grace UMC-Naperville, 1:00 pm
Join Team Knox for a 1K or 5K walk to raise funds for the local and global missions of Church World Service. After the walk you have the option to assemble Easy Meals for Loaves and Fishes. Sign up at crophungerwalk.org

Lincoln Junior High-Naperville, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Building picnic tables for an outdoor space, beautifying an outdoor space, or putting up decals in the building.

If you are unable to attend you can donate board games to fill the therapist rooms.
